Troop Virtual Campout

I know we all miss going on campouts with our Troop! They are a wonderful time to hangout with friends, play some cool games, learn some new skills, perfect abilities, and sit by the fire telling stories. I especially am upset that we missed our weekend at the POW camp, with no electricity, running water, bathrooms, or people around, it is by far the most memorable campout we have. Until we can safely get back together, let’s have a virtual campout. Checkout the schedule below and get ready to have some fun!

Canoeing, Camping, Kayaking, Oh My!

(Caleb S. — Life) What a great way to start off the new Scout year!  We decided to kick the excitement into overdrive and hit the rapids of Okatoma Creek.  This 13 mile trip down the creek was a great mix of relaxing, fun, scary, and exciting.  We went down waterfalls, through rapids, around gently flowing turns, flipped our boats, and most importantly we laughed the entire way.  Yes, we were exhausted, but it was well worth all the effort.  Not only did we get to have some fun, but we also completed one of the Camping Merit Badge requirements, helping us get closer to earning Eagle!

P.S. The walking tacos and the profound cake waiting for us were a perfect way to end the trip!

(by Caleb S-1st Class) Welcome to Scouting! In troop 205 of Long Beach, Mississippi, we are one of the oldest troops on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We do many great events from whitewater rafting to backpacking to doing service for the community. We meet every Tuesday at 7PM, and go on a campout every month!

There are different activities that you do for what age you are,

  • CUB SCOUT PACK- For boys and girls in 1st-5th grade, and ages 6-10
  • BOY SCOUT TROOP- For boys 11-18 years old
  • EXPLORER SCOUT POST- A side activity for the BSA for boys and girls. It focuses on a single interest like like law or firefighting.
  • STEM SCOUTS- For boys and girls. Learn and participate in many awesome science and technology projects.  Build robots, launch rockets, pilot drones, and learn to program.

The boys are taught with fun methods and go on adventures to build character. If you are interested, come talk to us at the meeting on Tuesday and we will help you. Hope to see you soon!
